Wuthering Waves Denia Build Guide: Echo Sets, Weapons & Teams

The official Resonator Review for Denia landed on August 18 and settles the build question she has carried since Version 3.3: which of her two modes do you build, and with which echo set. She is on rerun now, and the review prints two complete builds, a weapon pick, and two team comps. Here is all of it.

Who this guide covers

Denia is a 5★ Fusion Rectifier who debuted in Version 3.3 on May 21, 2026. Her first rerun is live now in Phase 1 of Version 3.6 on False Promise for Tomorrow, running August 20 to September 10, 09:59 server time (UTC+8), with Forged Dwarf Star back on the weapon banner in the same window. For the pull math and the should-I-pull argument, see the Denia rerun guide; this one is about how she actually plays and what to put on her.

The backbone here is the official Resonator Review | Bubbles of Nihility — Denia, published by Kuro on August 18: the first official document to print a build for her. The review uses launch-era names (Pink Form and Violet Form); in-game text and the wiki now call the same things Stagecraft Form and Breakdown Form. Both appear below.

The two modes: Stagecraft and Breakdown

FormWhat it doesReview name
StagecraftNormal attacks build Void Particle. Phantom Bubble pulls nearby enemies (20s cooldown).Pink Form
BreakdownNormal attacks burn Void Particle: damage counts as Liberation DMG with a 50% higher multiplier, and Conformal Charge fills twice as fast. Beckon pulls (4s cooldown).Violet Form
Entropy Shift: BreakdownGained by casting Liberation in Stagecraft form. ATK +30%.Enhanced State - Violet
Entropy Shift: StagecraftGained by casting Liberation in Breakdown form. Regenerates 1 Void Particle per second.Enhanced State - Pink

The loop: fight in Stagecraft to stock Void Particle, swap to Breakdown to spend it, and let Conformal Charge (100 cap) fill until Final Act auto-casts in Breakdown form. That cast drops the Erosion Field, a 30-second pull zone dealing Liberation DMG every 4s. Dark Cores (3 cap) fuel the enhanced skill: a Dark Core turns Beckon into Banish, and Stage 2 Banish consumes all cores, each adding 150% to the multiplier. Liberation costs 125 Resonance Energy on a 25s cooldown.

Kit numbers that matter

All values below are level 10 multipliers from the wiki's skill pages.

SkillLevel 10 numbersNotes
Phantom Bubble (Stagecraft)17.42%×3 + 52.25%Pull, 20s cooldown
Beckon (Breakdown)31.10% + 14.52%×5Pull, 4s cooldown
Banish Stage 2 (Breakdown)104.16%+150% per Dark Core consumed, counts as Liberation DMG
Final Act - Stagecraft397.62%Grants Entropy Shift: Breakdown (ATK +30%)
Final Act - Breakdown198.81%×4Auto-casts at full Conformal Charge; drops Erosion Field
Erosion Field tick136.33%Every 4s for 30s, pulls, counts as Liberation DMG

The quirk that matters: her Breakdown-form normal attacks count as Liberation DMG with the Void Particle boost, so her auto-attack chain feeds the same damage bucket as her Liberation. Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus is her most valuable stat.

Resonance Modes: Fusion Burst vs Tune Strain

Her Forte Circuit puts her in one of two Resonance Modes, which decides what her skills and Outro do:

Fusion Burst modeTune Strain mode
What her skills doSkills stack Fusion Burst on a target (2 stacks per hit, 10 max); at max it detonates for Fusion DMG, once per 2s per skill. Kills count as the nearest active Resonator's.The same skills apply Tune Strain - Shifting and reset the Interfered timer. Team Shifting rapidly raises the target's Off-Tune Level.
Outro (Unfinished Lies)Fusion Burst DMG near the active Resonator is Amplified by 60% for 30s.Incoming Resonator gets 15% All DMG Amplification for 16s, upgraded to 40% once they inflict Tune Strain - Shifting.
Team buff (Etched Colors)Whole team gains 30% Fusion DMG Bonus.Team gains 10 Tune Break Boost; each 10% of Off-Tune Buildup Rate over 100% adds 8 more, up to 40.

The Tune Strain side is a team mechanic. Only three resonators can apply Tune Strain - Shifting: Denia, Luuk Herssen and Lynae (wiki roster). At full Off-Tune Level she can Tune Break, and in Tune Strain mode she responds to Interfered: each point of Tune Break Boost adds 0.12% total damage per Interfered stack, and she raises the max stack limit by one.

My read after going through both: Fusion Burst mode is the damage build, and the one most players will run. Tune Strain mode is a support kit aimed at the new Tune Strain archetype, and it only pays off if you own the partners for it. Both are real builds.

Echo sets: the official picks

The review prints one set per mode, and they are not interchangeable:

ModeSet2-piece5-pieceMain echo stats
Fusion BurstChromatic Foam (5pc)Fusion DMG +10%Inflicting Fusion Burst grants 10% Fusion DMG Bonus for 15s; while active, an Outro grants the incoming Resonator 25% Fusion DMG Bonus for 15s.Cost-4: Crit. Rate / Crit. DMG. Cost-3: Fusion DMG Bonus.
Tune StrainReel of Spliced Memories (5pc)ATK +10%Inflicting Tune Rupture - Shifting or Tune Strain - Shifting gives the team +20 Tune Break Boost for 30s.Cost-4: ATK%.

Chromatic Foam has been in the game since Version 3.1, and its Calamity-class cost-4 echo is literally her: Reminiscence: Denia summons a "Trickster" for Fusion DMG (182.40% at level 2 up to 273.60% at level 5), and for 15s after, an Outro grants the incoming Resonator 12% Fusion DMG Bonus. 20s cooldown. A mini-version of her own Outro. Reel of Spliced Memories arrived in 3.3 with her; both sets are farmable.

Weapons

Forged Dwarf Star is her signature: a 5★ Rectifier with Crit. Rate as the second stat. R1 Dissolution: ATK +12%; inflicting Fusion Burst or Tune Strain - Shifting raises the wielder's Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus by 36% for 5s, and while active, teammates inflicting either get ATK +24% for 15s. A damage weapon with a team buff bolted on, fitting a kit that is half DPS, half enabler.

The budget pick is Waltz in Masquerade, a craftable 4★ Rectifier (100 Fool's Gold + 2 Standard Weapon Mold). Its passive, Rhetoric, stacks ATK +4% up to 4 times when you deal damage to enemies with Negative Statuses. On paper it lines up with her kit: she spends fights applying exactly that, as Fusion Burst stacks or Tune Strain - Shifting. It costs nothing but materials you already farm.

Also worth knowing: the weapon banner has no 50/50. Every 5★ on Absolute Pulsation is the featured weapon, so Forged Dwarf Star costs at most 80 pulls of Forging Tide (full mechanics in the weapon banner guide).

Teams from the review

The review prints two team comps, one per mode. All four partners are 5★ with wiki-verified roles:

ModeTeamWhy it works
Fusion BurstDenia + Aemeath + ChisaAemeath (5★ Fusion Sword DPS) carries Fusion Burst DMG Amplification herself, so Denia's Outro feeds straight into her damage. Chisa (5★ Havoc Broadblade, support/healer) keeps everyone alive.
Tune StrainDenia + Luuk Herssen + MornyeLuuk Herssen (5★ Spectro Gauntlets DPS) is one of the three Shifting appliers and responds to Interfered. Mornye (5★ Fusion Broadblade, support/healer) carries Tune Strain Response and Off-Tune Buildup Efficiency, filling the gauge faster.

Treat these as starting points. The Tune Strain team is the more interesting one: a mechanic only a handful of characters use. The Fusion Burst team is the flexible one, slotting into any roster that wants a Fusion damage engine.

Sequences worth knowing

Her Resonance Chain is documented in full on the wiki. The short version:

  • S1 — Crit. DMG +30%, interruption immunity on her pull skills, and entering combat grants the matching Entropy Shift state (30s in Stagecraft, 12s in Breakdown). Best single upgrade in the chain.
  • S2 — Fusion Burst mode: teammates gain 50% Fusion DMG Bonus on inflicting Fusion Burst, and Denia stacks up to 10% Fusion RES ignore. Tune Strain mode: team Shifting grants +20 Tune Break Boost and maxes the target's Off-Tune gauge. Banish +40%.
  • S3 — Final Act - Breakdown multiplier +80%, and she holds 5 Dark Cores instead of 3.
  • S4 — Erosion Field ticks every 3s instead of 4s.
  • S5 — Final Act - Stagecraft damage +100%.
  • S6 — +60% ATK and +60% Fusion DMG Bonus in Entropy Shift states; Erosion Field triggers a max-stack Fusion Burst with a 200% multiplier against the main target, without consuming stacks.

For a light-spender, S1 is the one that changes how she feels. S2 and S6 are the deep Fusion Burst investments. S3 to S5 are whale territory.

Materials

Full ascension (0 to 6 stars) costs 170,000 Shell Credit, 46 Burning Judgment, 60 Dream of Stars, and 4 LF + 12 MF + 12 HF + 4 FF Mech Cores. One main forte from 1 to 10 costs 280,000 Shell Credit, 5 Spliced String, 5 Broken String, 8 Solidified String, 11 Melodic String, 5/5/5/9 of the Mech Core tiers, and 4 We Who Question. Burning Judgment and Dream of Stars are the Fusion-specific gates; Mech Cores and We Who Question are the standard 3.x grind.

Pull verdict, briefly

Her rerun runs to September 10, 09:59 server time. A 5★ costs at most 80 pulls (12,800 Astrite), a guaranteed featured copy 160 (25,600) with a lost 50/50 — see the pity system explained and 50/50 guide. Pulled Qingxiao this Phase 1? Denia is a natural second pick: two banners, two jobs, no resource conflict.

FAQ

Which echo set should I farm for Denia?
The official review says Chromatic Foam 5pc for Fusion Burst mode (cost-4 Crit. Rate/Crit. DMG, cost-3 Fusion DMG Bonus) and Reel of Spliced Memories 5pc for Tune Strain mode (cost-4 ATK%). Decide your mode first; the sets are not interchangeable.
Is the craftable Waltz in Masquerade actually good enough?
It is the weapon the official review prints. A craftable 4★ whose ATK stacking passive her kit keeps triggered, it is the honest budget option; Forged Dwarf Star is the ceiling, Waltz covers the floor at zero gacha cost.
How long is her rerun banner up?
From the August 20 update to September 10, 09:59 server time (UTC+8), per the official Phase I convene overview. Phase 2 (Jingran, Hiyuki, Mornye) starts September 10 at 10:00.
