Qingxiao Banner Guide: Wind of Transcendence Dates, Weapons & Verdict

Qingxiao arrives August 20 on Wind of Transcendence

Qingxiao is the headline character of Wuthering Waves 3.6. Kuro's official reveal for her landed on August 16, four days before the patch, and it's worth reading in full because it tells you exactly how much is confirmed:

"Xuan Paragon, Qingxiao, a seeker of the Way. Time's endless flow has brought you back to me. Take up your blade, and let us walk this path together."

That's the whole reveal. No kit numbers, no skill names, no multipliers. What's confirmed is her identity: Qingxiao is a 5★ Aero Resonator who fights with a sword, known as the Paragon of Mengzhou, and she's obtainable through the Wind of Transcendence Featured Resonator Convene, per the official 3.6 update maintenance notice.

At the time of writing, her kit numbers have not been published anywhere official, and the wiki's page for her is still a stub. The official preview video shows her in combat, but previews don't ship numbers. Expect the full skill details in the patch notes when 3.6 goes live on August 20. Anyone quoting her multipliers or sequences right now is guessing, and I'm not going to do that here.

The full Phase 1 lineup

Phase 1 of 3.6 runs two character banners and two weapon banners side by side, all opening on patch day once maintenance ends:

Maintenance on August 20 runs 04:00 to 11:00 (UTC+8), and the new banners go up with the server restart, per the official maintenance notice.

How long does Phase 1 last? Banners in Wuthering Waves run roughly 20 days per phase. 3.5's Phase 2 opened on July 30, exactly 20 days into that patch, so Phase 1 of 3.6 should run until around September 9. That's an estimate, not a date: Kuro posts the exact Phase 2 start in-game closer to the time. Phase 2 then brings Jingran (5★ Fusion Broadblade) with his signature Thousandfold Deliverance, plus Hiyuki and Mornye reruns, and the Frostburn and Starfield Calibrator weapon reruns.

What's confirmed about Qingxiao so far

• Rarity and element: 5★ Aero, per the official maintenance notice and the wiki.
• Weapon: Sword. Her signature is the 5★ sword Glint of Clouds, confirmed by the official notice.
• Role: not officially stated yet. No DPS or support designation has been published, so treat any claims about her role as speculation.
• Lore: Paragon of Mengzhou, a Huanglong Resonator; the official reveal calls her the Xuan Paragon.
• Voice: Nabatame Hitomi (Japanese), per the wiki's voice announcement reference.
• Glint of Clouds stats: not published yet. The wiki has no page for the weapon as of this writing, and the official notice confirms only that it exists.

One fact worth knowing before you plan anything: Aero is not a starved element. The roster already includes 5★ sword users Cartethyia and Qiuyuan, plus Jiyan as the long-standing 5★ Aero DPS. So "I need Aero coverage" is a weak reason to pull on its own. Whether Qingxiao slots into your teams depends on numbers that aren't out yet.

How the banner works

Wind of Transcendence is a standard Featured Resonator Convene, which means the rules are the ones this site has covered in detail elsewhere: a 50/50 on the featured character, hard pity at 80 pulls, soft pity starting around pull 66, and both the pity count and a lost 50/50's guarantee carry over between event character banners and across versions (see the pity system explained and how the 50/50 works). The official Convene Details notice publishes the rates:

The cost math: one pull costs 160 Astrite, so a featured character who wins the 50/50 at hard pity costs at most 12,800. Lose the 50/50 first and the worst case is 160 pulls, or 25,600 Astrite. For reference, a fully active F2P account earns roughly 10,900 Astrite per patch, about 68 pulls (see the Astrite per patch breakdown). That means one guaranteed character is roughly a patch and a half of saving, and a worst-case double pity is over two patches.

The weapon banner: two signatures at once

Weapon banners skip the 50/50 entirely: on Absolute Pulsation, every 5★ you pull is the featured weapon. Pity is still 80, so a guaranteed signature costs at most 12,800 Astrite, and it uses Forging Tide, the weapon-banner currency (full mechanics in the weapon banner guide). Phase 1 runs two of them at once, mirroring the character lineup:

• Glint of Clouds, Qingxiao's sword. Stats not published yet, full stop.
• Forged Dwarf Star, Denia's rectifier. This one has real numbers on the wiki: Crit. Rate as its secondary stat, and at rank 1 it raises ATK by 12%, boosts the wielder's Resonance Liberation DMG by 36% for 5 seconds after a Fusion Burst or Tune Strain, then raises the whole team's ATK by 24% for 15 seconds while that effect is active. It released with Denia on May 21, 2026, and this is its first rerun.

That pairing matters. If you pulled Denia back in 3.3 and skipped her weapon, both are back in the same phase, which is as clean a rerun window as this game offers. If you only care about Qingxiao, you'd be spending 12,800 Astrite on a sword whose sub-stat nobody has seen. I'd wait for the patch notes on that one.

Who should pull

Here's the thing about this banner: you can plan the schedule now, but the pull decision should wait. The kit numbers land with the patch notes on August 20, hours before her banner opens, and there is no downside to a few hours of patience.

• You're sitting on a 50/50 guarantee. She's the low-risk option among 3.6's new characters, purely because she's in Phase 1: you get her full kit at release and still have all of 3.6's income banked if you change your mind. Your pity and guarantee stay intact until you actually pull.
• You missed Denia in 3.3. This phase is her return, character and signature weapon together. Our Denia rerun guide covers her kit and verdict.
• You need an Aero damage dealer. Hold on. Aero already has 5★ sword users and Jiyan as the established DPS, so the element isn't starved. Whether Qingxiao is your answer depends on her numbers, which aren't out yet.
• You're new or low on Astrite. Skip the weapon banner. 12,800 for a signature is a character you didn't get, and Glint of Clouds is the least informed 12,800 you could spend this patch.
• The honest summary: decide the schedule now, decide the pull after the patch notes post. A 3-hour wait costs nothing. A 25,600 Astrite mistake costs three patches.
