Wuthering Waves Weapon Banner Guide: No 50/50, Pity & Forging Tide

Weapon banners in Wuthering Waves skip the 50/50 entirely: every 5★ you pull is the featured weapon. Here are the official rates, the 80-pull pity, how carry-over works, and which weapons are live right now.

The short version

Three banners hand out 5★ weapons: the permanent Standard Weapon Convene, the limited Featured Weapon Convene (Absolute Pulsation), and Tideforge Reverbs. All three tell you exactly what a 5★ will be before you pull. The character banner does not, and that is why the weapon banner deserves its own guide.

The official numbers: 0.8% base 5★ rate per pull, 1.8% average with guarantees, hard pity at 80 pulls. One pull costs 160 Astrite, so a guaranteed weapon costs at most 12,800. On the character banner the worst case is double that: lose the 50/50 and you need a second cycle.

The three ways to pull a 5★ weapon

BannerCurrencyWhat a 5★ gives you
Standard Weapon Convene (Winter Brume)Lustrous TideYour selected target weapon, always. Permanent banner.
Featured Weapon Convene (Absolute Pulsation)Forging TideThe one featured 5★ weapon, every time. Limited, rotates each phase.
Tideforge ReverbsForging TideYour selected weapon from a fixed pool of six signatures. Limited, runs all of 3.5.

The Standard Weapon Convene is the background option: always open, uses Lustrous Tide, and lets you pick one of the ten standard 5★ weapons, two per weapon type. The next 5★ you pull is your pick. Most players touch it once and never again; the standard pool is the one you outgrow first.

The Featured Weapon Convene is where new signature weapons live. It runs alongside the character banners: when Qingxiao arrives, her sword arrives with her. The current one, Absolute Pulsation: Firstlight's Herald, has been up since July 30 and closes August 19.

Tideforge Reverbs is the one people misunderstand. It is the weapon-side twin of Starpath Reverbs, and its pool is the signature weapons of that banner's six characters: Jiyan, Yinlin, Jinhsi, Changli, Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao. Picked one on Starpath? This is where their weapon lives.

Rates and pity: the official numbers

Kuro publishes the convene rates in its official Convene Details notice, and the weapon banner uses the same table as everything else:

RarityBase rateAverage (with guarantee)Guarantee
5★ Weapon0.8%1.8%At least one every 80 pulls
4★ Resonator/Weapon6.0%12.0%At least one every 10 pulls
3★ Weapon93.2%

Hard pity is 80, with soft pity starting around pull 66 on every banner family (the same curve the pity system guide documents). The 80-pull cap is the only guarantee the game publishes, so treat 80 as the price of a weapon and be glad when it lands early.

No 50/50: the difference that matters

On a character event banner, a 5★ has a 50% chance to be the featured character. Lose that roll and the next 5★ is guaranteed to be them, but you have spent up to 80 pulls on a standard-pool resonator you may not want. Worst case: two full cycles, 160 pulls, 25,600 Astrite.

Weapon banners do not work that way. The official wording: "Every time a 5-star Weapon is obtained, it is guaranteed to be the Featured 5-star Weapon." That applies to both Absolute Pulsation and Tideforge Reverbs. There is no loss state, so the worst case is exactly one pity: 80 pulls, 12,800 Astrite. Nothing like it exists on the character side (how the 50/50 works).

Pity carry-over: what carries and what doesn't

Weapon pity carries over, but only within the same banner family. Three separate counters exist: featured weapon banners, Reverb weapon banners, and the standard banner. None of them share with each other or with character banners.

The practical part: pull 40 times on Firstlight's Herald before August 19 without a 5★ and those 40 count toward the next Featured Weapon Convene, including Glint of Clouds in 3.6. A partial pity on the current banners is not wasted; it rolls straight into the next phase.

Tideforge Reverbs works the same way, with one wrinkle. The official notice says the guarantee count "will carry over to the next Reverb Weapon Convene banner." This is the first Tideforge the game has ever run, so there is no precedent, but the wording is explicit: your progress banks for the next Reverb weapon event whenever Kuro schedules one. Nothing disappears on August 19.

Forging Tide: the weapon banner currency

Featured Weapon and Tideforge banners take Forging Tide, not Radiant Tide, and the currencies do not mix. One pull costs one Forging Tide, bought for 160 Astrite, the same rate as the character banner. A 10-pull is 1,600 Astrite; a full 80-pull pity is 12,800.

Other ways, per the wiki: exchanging Afterglow Coral, exchanging Oscillate Coral (capped at 6 per month), and the Blake's Bloom Forging Aid bundle (capped at 2 per month, 5 Tides each). Mail compensation has included it too: a dev-team apology mail gave 5 Tides back in June 2024. The caps matter: the coral exchanges are the only way to shave real Astrite off a weapon pity, and they reset monthly.

Live now: all weapon banners end August 19

Three weapon banners are up now, and all of them close at 11:59 server time on August 19, the same minute the character banners close. Version 3.6 lands the next morning.

BannerWeaponNotes
Absolute Pulsation: Firstlight's HeraldFirstlight's Herald (5★ Rectifier, Energy Regen)Suisui's signature. At rank 1 it can give the whole team +20% ATK once both effects are active.
Absolute Pulsation: Everbright PolestarEverbright Polestar (5★ Sword, Crit. Rate)Aemeath's signature, on rerun.
Tideforge ReverbsPick 1 of 6 signaturesVerdant Summit, Stringmaster, Ages of Harvest, Blazing Brilliance, Rime-Draped Sprouts or Verity's Handle.

Firstlight's Herald is the most interesting of the three for most accounts because it is a support weapon: Energy Regen sub-stat, Concerto Energy restore, and a rank-1 effect that raises nearby teammates' ATK by 20% when both conditions are met. Team-wide value, not a DPS number on one unit. Everbright Polestar is a damage stick for Aemeath; skip it if you do not play him.

Coming in 3.6: the weapon lineup from August 20

Version 3.6 opens August 20 at 10:00 (UTC+8) with two weapon banners in Phase 1 and three in Phase 2, per the official preview and the wiki's version page:

PhaseBannerWeapon
1 (from Aug 20)Absolute Pulsation: Glint of CloudsGlint of Clouds (new 5★ sword, Qingxiao's signature)
1 (from Aug 20)Absolute Pulsation: Forged Dwarf StarForged Dwarf Star (5★ Rectifier, Crit. Rate, Denia's signature, rerun)
2Absolute Pulsation: Thousandfold DeliveranceThousandfold Deliverance (new 5★ broadblade, Jingran's signature)
2Absolute Pulsation: FrostburnFrostburn (5★ Sword, Crit. Rate, Hiyuki's signature, rerun)
2Absolute Pulsation: Starfield CalibratorStarfield Calibrator (5★ Broadblade, Energy Regen, Mornye's signature, rerun)

Full stats for the two new weapons are not published yet, so no numbers on them until the patch notes drop. The three reruns are documented on the wiki. For the rest of 3.6, including the character banners, see the Version 3.6 preview.

Should you pull on weapon banners?

The math cuts both ways. A guaranteed weapon costs 12,800 Astrite, more than a patch's income on a fully active F2P account (about 10,900, or 68 pulls, per the Astrite per patch breakdown). Every weapon you pull is a character you did not pull. That opportunity cost does not go away because the banner is generous.

That said, the no-50/50 rule makes weapons the most predictable spend in the game, and some earn their keep better than others:

  • Support signatures are the best value. Firstlight's Herald and Starfield Calibrator buff the whole team and keep working as the roster changes; a DPS signature mostly buffs its owner.
  • Tideforge Reverbs is a targeted purchase. If you run one of the six characters, this is the only current way to get their signature without waiting for a rerun. If you play none of them, it is a 12,800 Astrite shelf decoration.
  • Never start a weapon banner you cannot finish. The guarantee only matters if you can reach 80; partial pity carries over, so a stopped run is not a loss, but an unfinished weapon is one you never got.

My honest take: pull characters first. Pull weapons only when a signature helps more than one unit, or when the character you are building is already guaranteed. The 3.6 phase-1 pair tests this well: Qingxiao's sword and Denia's rectifier both arrive August 20, and only one is a team-wide buff.

Frequently asked questions

Do weapon banners have a 50/50?
No. On both the Featured Weapon Convene and Tideforge Reverbs, every 5★ weapon you pull is the featured weapon or your selected weapon. The 50/50 exists only on character banners.
Does weapon banner pity carry over?
Yes, within the same family: featured weapon pity carries between Absolute Pulsation banners, Reverb pity between Reverb weapon events. The families are separate from each other and from character and standard banners.
How many Astrite do I need to guarantee a weapon?
80 pulls at 160 Astrite each: 12,800. With no 50/50 to lose, that is the worst case, not the average.
What happens to my Tideforge Reverbs pity when it ends on August 19?
It carries over to the next Reverb Weapon Convene event, per the official notice. This is the first Tideforge the game has run, so the next one has no date yet, but the carry-over is explicit.
Should F2P players pull on weapon banners?
Usually not, unless the weapon buffs the whole team and you can cover the 80-pull worst case. A guaranteed weapon costs more than one patch of F2P income, so characters stay the safer default.
