WuWa 3.7 New Echoes: All Five Skills Revealed

Kuro published the Echo Skills for all five 3.7 Echoes on September 20: Formrender, Soulfrayer, Bloomburst Puppet, Skywatch Lancer and Jade Nether Serpent. What each one does, and what is still unpublished.

The short version

Kuro's September 20 notice names five Echoes and gives each one its Echo Skill text for the first time. Three state a damage type and nothing else, one grants Energy Regen from the main slot, and one hands an Electro DMG bonus to the Resonator who takes the field next. None of the five had a wiki page when this was written: they arrive with 3.7 on September 30.

Where this data comes from

Two official sources, one day apart. The 3.7 version preview from September 19 lists the same five names as the version's new Echoes, alongside a new Phantom and three new Sonata Effects. The next morning, Kuro posted the Enemies notice for Mengzhou: Land of Xuanfang, which is where the Echo Skill lines and the lore below come from.

That notice files the five under the frontier region 3.6 opened, not under 3.7's new area: Xuanfang Hold, the Fogveil Pagoda and the Skyworks factory are all part of it. So these are additions to ground you can already walk, though the notice does not say where in the region they spawn.

Formrender: Fusion damage and an Energy Regen grant

The official line: "Summon a Formrender to attack enemies, dealing Fusion DMG. The Resonator with this Echo equipped in the main slot gains Energy Regen."

That second sentence is the interesting half. Formrender is the only one of the five where Kuro describes something the equipped Resonator gets rather than something the summon does. No number and no duration are attached, so there is no telling whether the Energy Regen is a flat stat on the Echo or a timed buff after the summon lands. Energy Regen matters to most supports and to anyone chasing Liberation uptime, which is why this one deserves a second look when the patch notes arrive.

The lore reads darker than the skill: Formrenders were built for war, and their work is tearing into other Autopuppets and raiding repair workshops to stall the restoration of the Civilization Capsule. Suhsin the Inevitable pushed fervor and rage from the Heart of Flames into them, and their Kernels twisted along with everything else.

Soulfrayer: Electro damage, and a buff for whoever swaps in

The official line: "Summon a Soulfrayer to attack enemies, dealing Electro DMG and granting Electro DMG Bonus to the incoming Resonator."

"Incoming" is the keyword. This summon pays the Resonator you switch to, not the one who cast it, making it the only one of the five with a team-facing effect. The size of the bonus, its duration and whether it stacks are all unpublished, and all three decide whether the Echo is worth a slot. The element still lines up with 3.7's headline draw: both new 5-stars, Hsin in Phase 1 and Suoming in Phase 2, are Electro.

Its write-up adds one detail worth keeping: it does not get along with the Formrender. "The two have never fought well together."

Bloomburst Puppet: straight Glacio

The official line: "Summon a Bloomburst Puppet to attack enemies, dealing Glacio DMG." That is the whole kit description, with no extra clause.

The lore carries it instead. Bloomburst Puppets sit disguised as flowerbeds and potted plants around the Censure Courts until a Tacet Discord wanders close, then unfold and strike. Anomalies grew the foliage inside their shells until it split them open, hence the half-machine, half-plant look.

Skywatch Lancer: Aero damage, plus the version's Phantom

The official line: "Summon a Skywatch Lancer to deal Aero DMG to the target."

The preview poster adds what the notice leaves out: Phantom: Skywatch Lancer is 3.7's new Phantom Echo. Phantom Echoes are alternate appearances for an Echo, found by beating the mutated version of that enemy in the world, and each one pays a trophy. They change the look, not the skill. 3.6 did something similar through Resonance Sim Realm, which handed out a Phantom version of a boss Echo as an event reward.

This is the most grounded of the five in lore terms. The Court of Savantae built Skywatch Lancers in Mengzhou to chase airborne Tacet Discords, with propulsion units carried over from the Skywatch Ring. Mass production at the Skyworks never happened, because Tacet Discords wrecked the lines during the Fortress and Gorges War. Where the Echo spawns now is unstated.

Jade Nether Serpent: Fusion damage and a job title

The official line: "Summon a Jade Nether Serpent to deal Fusion DMG to the target."

By its own entry, the serpent sweeps the Censure Courts after every shift switch, absorbing leftover Echoes and carrying them to the Manifold Sanctum, then dumping the residue into the abyss below Xuanfang Hold. Sightings have gotten rarer, which the notice blames on a decline in Tacet Discord purging operations.

What "small and medium size" means for your build

The notice files all five as small and medium size Echoes, the wording for ordinary enemies rather than bosses. The game sorts Echoes into four classes: Common at cost 1, Elite at cost 3, and Overlord and Calamity at cost 4. Kuro prints no cost next to any of the five, so read the size wording as a strong hint rather than a published stat.

The hint matters because cost decides a lot. Your Echo Cost Limit caps at 12, unlocked at Data Bank level 9, and a build has to fit inside it: one cost-4 piece plus two cost-3 and two cost-1 is the classic 12. Elemental DMG Bonus main stats appear only on cost-3 and cost-4 Echoes, and a 5-star cost-3 rolls up to 30% of the element. If Soulfrayer turns out to be cost-3, the copy you want is the one with an Electro DMG Bonus main stat.

Fusion is the odd one out. Two of the five new Echoes deal Fusion damage and not one Fusion Resonator is on a 3.7 banner. If you play Jingran, Denia or Mornye, those two are aimed at you; if you are pulling the new Electro pair, your element is Soulfrayer and nothing else here.

What Kuro has not published

  • Cost or class for each of the five, and their rarity range.
  • Which Sonata Effects each Echo can roll. The poster names three new ones, Heart of Sworn Vigil, Flash of Electric Reflection and Flower of Tinged Yearning, with no set text and no pairing to a specific Echo. Sonata is rolled randomly on drop from a fixed list per Echo, so which set your Soulfrayer lands on is a farming question rather than a choice.
  • Numbers on Formrender's Energy Regen and Soulfrayer's Electro DMG Bonus: no values, durations or caps.
  • Main stat lines, and whether any of the five gets a Nightmare variant.
  • Spawn locations, and how Phantom: Skywatch Lancer is obtained.

Should you farm them now?

Not yet: the five Echoes do not exist until the 3.7 update lands on September 30. What you can do meanwhile is get the account ready.

  • Clear backpack space. 3.7 adds stacking for unequipped, unupgraded Echoes that share a type, a Sonata and a main stat, so the pile you refuse to sort today becomes a stack of up to 999.
  • Bank Echo EXP. A Premium Sealed Tube is worth 5,000 EXP, and a 5-star Echo takes 25 levels of it.
  • Bank tuners, which pay for substats on the pieces worth keeping.
  • Check your Data Bank level against 15, the gate for 5-star drops. Absorbing Echoes is what levels it, and a higher Data Bank also raises the drop rate.
  • Pick your elements before you farm. Pulling Hsin or Suoming? Electro is the only element here you need. Skipping them? The two Fusion Echoes are aimed at your roster.

3.6 ends on September 29 at 11:59 server time, and its events mostly close eight hours earlier at 03:59, which is the closer deadline if you still have rewards to collect. The version preview has the dates and the phase split, and the pull math for both new Electro 5-stars sits on the average cost page.

Are the five new Echoes in the game yet?
No. They arrive with the 3.7 update on September 30, roughly ten days after Kuro published their Echo Skills.
Which of the five is the best?
Unanswerable from the published data. Soulfrayer is the only one with a team effect and Formrender the only one with a stat grant, but neither has a number attached, and cost, rarity and Sonata rolls are all unknown.
What is a Phantom Echo?
An alternate appearance for an Echo, obtained by defeating the mutated version of that enemy in the world. The unlock pays a trophy. The skill does not change.
