Resonance Sim Realm 3.6 Guide: Dates, Rewards & Phantom Echo

The headline combat event of Wuthering Waves 3.6 goes live today. Resonance Sim Realm runs from August 22 to September 29, and the official preview finally confirms the full reward list: 1,200 Astrite, a Phantom Echo of Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis, the "Resonance! Best Combo" title, and a stack of premium materials.

What the event is

Kuro published the official event preview on August 21, the first concrete details for the event the 3.6 maintenance notice only named. The patch notes carry the same description, and it is worth quoting in full:

This is an open-ended test of ability diversity, a simulated experiment that keeps iterating under layer upon layer of interference. The Tethys System continuously supplies interference sources of every kind, free for participants to tap into and combine as they explore ever richer structures of ability.

Read plainly: this is a combat event built around stacking buffs. The "interference sources" are the upgrades you pick up between fights, and combining them into a build is the point. The event screen calls it an open-ended sandbox rather than a fixed gauntlet, which lines up with the roguelite-style combat events Wuthering Waves has run before, but the exact stage structure is not published anywhere yet. Treat the in-game event page, not third-party write-ups, as the source of truth once it opens.

Eligibility is low: Union Level 14, per the official preview. Even a fairly new account can join.

Dates and duration

The event starts today and stays up for more than five weeks. All times below are server time (UTC+8), the clock the game's notices use; the conversions are arithmetic on that.

WindowServer time (UTC+8)US PacificUS EasternUTC
StartAug 22, 10:00Aug 21, 19:00Aug 21, 22:00Aug 22, 02:00
EndSep 29, 11:59Sep 28, 20:59Sep 28, 23:59Sep 29, 03:59

Two things stand out about the window. First, it covers nearly the whole patch: the event is live during Phase 1 (Qingxiao and Denia, until September 10 09:59) and through all of Phase 2 (Jingran, Hiyuki and Mornye, September 10 10:00 to September 29 11:59). The event closes at the exact minute Phase 2 banners end. Second, that means there is no rush: five and a half weeks is enough to clear it at a relaxed pace no matter when in the patch you find time.

Full reward list

The official preview lists the rewards as a single line. Here they are broken out:

RewardAmountWhat it is
Astrite1,200Premium currency, 1 pull costs 160
Phantom - Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis1Special echo appearance, event only
Resonance! Best Combo1Player title
Premium Tuner150Echo substat reroll material
Premium Sealed Tube20Echo EXP, 5,000 each
Premium Resonance Potion20Resonator EXP material
Premium Energy Core20Weapon EXP material
Premium Enclosure Tank - Land of Xuanfang6Weapon ascension / skill material selector
Shell Credit850,000In-game currency

The notice ends the list with "and other Materials", so the table is the confirmed floor rather than the ceiling. The 3.6 patch notes add one important detail: the title and the Phantom Echo can only be obtained by participating in this event.

What the rewards are actually worth

The Astrite alone makes this the biggest single payout of the patch so far. 1,200 Astrite is 7.5 pulls at the official rate of 160 per pull, which is a meaningful slice of the 12,800 (80 pulls) a hard pity costs. Add the patch compensation (300 maintenance + 300 bug-fix Astrite, both from the official notes) and the three sources together come to 1,800 Astrite, or 11.25 pulls, before you touch the map.

The materials are the quiet value. Twenty Premium Sealed Tubes is 100,000 echo EXP (5,000 per tube per the item page), a serious chunk of echo leveling on its own. 150 Premium Tuners covers a lot of substat rerolling, and six Enclosure Tanks let you hand-pick weapon ascension materials instead of farming them. 850,000 Shell Credits is not life-changing, but it pays for a few ascension batches.

The Phantom Echo reward: Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis

Phantom Echoes are alternate appearances of existing echoes: same function, different look, and unlocking one grants its trophy. The event version is the only way to get this particular appearance, and you can equip it on any character the echo fits.

The echo itself is new with 3.6 (R71, Overlord class, 4 cost, rarity 2-5). Equipped in the main slot it grants 12% Fusion DMG Bonus and 12% Heavy Attack DMG Bonus. Its active summons the machine to slam the ground, dealing Fusion DMG equal to a percentage of Max HP on impact (the wiki lists the scaling from 6.80% to 10.20% across ranks) and then crush enemies along a path up to 19 times for small Fusion hits. Cooldown is 20 seconds. It fits the Heart of Evil's Purge sonata set, and also the Lamp of Nether Road set.

Lore-wise, this is a ruin from the Skyworks: a giant Autopuppet that was built to be a living prison for Tacet Discords and still carries out its purge long after its keepers went quiet. You will meet it in the story area of 3.6, and it also stars in the new Tactical Hologram: Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis challenge listed in the version notes, so expect to fight it more than once.

One fight tip from the enemy page, in case the Hologram version gives you trouble: it has high resistance to Fusion damage, and it takes 5% more total damage per stack of Havoc Bane (up to five stacks), with consuming the bane adding a further 20% for 30 seconds. Havoc damage is the lever here.

How to plan around it

  • The window runs the whole patch, so there is no reason to grind it in the first week. Spread it out.
  • If you are saving for a specific character, the event's Astrite arrives while both banner phases are still ahead of you: Qingxiao now, or Jingran, Hiyuki and Mornye from September 10. See the 3.6 banner schedule for the full picture.
  • It overlaps with the patch's other big combat content: the co-op event If Dreams Still Reverberate runs September 10 to 29, so the last three weeks of 3.6 are busy. Clearing Resonance Sim Realm earlier leaves room for that.
  • Mechanics past the official description are not published. No stage list, no difficulty breakdown. If a site claims to have those before the event goes live, it is guessing.
  • Union Level 14 is a low bar. If your account qualifies, you can start on day one.
