Wuthering Waves 3.7: Release Date and Banners

The short version

Kuro published the 3.7 preview on September 19 and dated the patch to September 30 (UTC+8). The version is called "Prism's Illusion, Heart's Illumination", and it does something the last few patches did not: two brand-new 5-stars instead of one, both of them Electro.

Hsin, a Rectifier, runs in Phase 1. Suoming, a Sword, runs in Phase 2. Both bring a signature weapon: Blooming Jadehaven and Unspoken Rue. The rest of the preview covers a new main quest act, a Tales quest, a new area in Mengzhou, one permanent event, nine limited events, new Echoes, three new Sonata Effects, and quality-of-life work on the Echo backpack, the camera and team setups.

Missing from all of it: kit numbers. Neither character has an official Resonator Review, and both wiki pages are flagged as upcoming content.

Dates, and the deadline at the end of 3.6

3.6 shuts down before 3.7 arrives, and its two deadlines sit eight hours apart. If Fogveil Pagoda or Chord Cleansing still owe you rewards, September 29 is the last day; the current event roundup has the per-event cutoffs.

September 30 is update day. 3.6's maintenance ran 04:00 to 11:00 UTC+8, which is 20:00 to 03:00 PT the previous day, and nothing yet suggests 3.7 will differ. The maintenance notice lands about a week ahead with pre-download sizes and the compensation.

October 22 is where Phase 2 begins, read off a real event rather than a published phase date: the Phase 2 login event, Gifts of Singing Drizzle, opens at 10:00 that morning. The arithmetic agrees. September 30 to November 11 is 42 days, and recent patches ran two phases of about 20 days, so two 21-day halves land on October 22. November 11 is also the end of the version, since the store notice dates the Moonlit Path event to November 11, 11:59 server time.

Who is new: Hsin and Suoming

Hsin, 5-star Electro Rectifier, "The Moon Fox". One of Huanglong's seven Sentinels, based in Mengzhou, which is where this patch's story goes. She headlines Phase 1 with Blooming Jadehaven as her paired weapon. Suzie Yeung voices her in English, Mamiko Noto in Japanese.

Suoming, 5-star Electro Sword. Mengzhou as well, and her one published line is about refusing to let go of an obsession. She headlines Phase 2 with Unspoken Rue, and Rumi Okubo voices her in Japanese.

That is the whole dossier: element, weapon, region, voices, with no multipliers, role, materials or passive numbers, so any Hsin build guide you find this week was written from nothing. Kit details usually appear on the wiki within a day of launch.

The full banner lineup

Same two-phase, three-banner shape as 3.6's Phase 2. All six are ordinary Featured Resonator Convenes: Radiant Tides, 80-pull pity, a 50/50 on the featured 5-star, and carry-over between them. The paired weapon banners use Forging Tides and hand over the featured weapon outright.

Lynae's is the shortest turnaround of the four; Lucilla's the longest, for anyone who skipped 3.4.

What the patch costs you

Two new 5-stars in one patch is a scheduling problem before it is a spending problem, because a free-to-play patch does not pay for both. The numbers, from the published rates and the 160 Astrite price of a Radiant Tide:

A full-activity free-to-play patch pays roughly 10,900 Astrite, about 68 pulls, which is short of one hard pity: the realistic plan is one 50/50 attempt, or banking a guarantee across two patches. The $5 Lunite pass lifts that to about 94 pulls. The average cost of a featured 5-star and the per-patch income breakdown go deeper, and pity plus the 50/50 rules cover the mechanics.

Both new characters are Electro, so if your Electro coverage is already sorted, the pull value sits with the two 3.3 reruns.

New area, quests and the permanent event

• Main quest: Chapter IV Act IV, "Simulacrum of the Heart". The previous act, Song of the Heart Sword, sat behind a 3.5 segue quest, so clear story content before September 30 rather than after.
• Tales quest: "Moonlike Heart, Mortal Longing".
• New area: Simulacrum Nexus, in the Mengzhou province.
• Permanent event: "Blooms for the Shadow", joining the rotation instead of expiring with the patch.

New Echoes and Sonata Effects

The preview poster names five new Echoes, Formrender, Soulfrayer, Skywatch Lancer, Bloomburst and a Jade Nether puppet serpent, plus one Phantom Echo, Phantom: Skywatch Lancer. The new Sonata Effects are Heart of Sworn Vigil, Flash of Electric Reflection and Flower of Tinged Yearning. That is everything published: no set text, no Echo costs, and no word on which set suits Hsin or Suoming.

Quality-of-life changes

• Echo backpack stacking. Unequipped, unupgraded Echoes sharing an Echo type, a Sonata Effect and a main stat merge into one stack of up to 999. Locked Echoes survive the merge as locked.
• Echo recommendations become mode-aware for Resonators with two Resonance Modes.
• Main quest replay. Journey Log can replay 1.1's Thaw of Eons, the 1.2 Moon-Chasing Festival event and 1.3's To the Shore's End, with automatic progress saving and a manual reset.
• Camera. Handheld and Selfie modes with poses and expressions, a tripod drone perspective, reference lines, lens templates, plus time, weather, foliage wind and lighting controls.
• Team management. Twenty team slots, a 3D setup view you can toggle with the 2D one, and faster reordering and renaming. Some devices will not support the 3D mode.
• Tiered client downloads. PC gets UHD, HD and SD tiers, mobile gets HD and SD, starting as a limited test.

Events and the store

Nine limited events are listed, with the poster giving types rather than dates and gates: Cubie Wars and Echo Erase (leisure), Gifts of Waking Moon (seven-day login), Dreams in the Capsule (area exploration), Past Dreams, Traced Seals (photo collection), Artisan's Search (featured combat), Beyond the Waves: Land of Xuanfang (featured exploration), Waking Moon Fishing and Back to Solaris (web events). A second login event covers Phase 2: Gifts of Singing Drizzle runs October 22, 10:00 to November 11, 03:59 and pays Radiant Tide x10 and more.

The Moonlit Path store event returns for the length of the version with Moonlit Ring milestones. The top milestone includes a Selectable 5-star Resonator, with Shorekeeper, Carlotta or Phoebe on the list, or 8 Transducers if you prefer materials; you cannot select a character whose Wavebands are maxed. Another carries a 5-star Weapon Supply Chest with a choice of Laser Shearer, Radiance Cleaver, Phasic Homogenizer, Pulsation Bracer or Boson Astrolabe. Unclaimed rewards are reissued by in-game mail if you log in within 30 days of the event ending. Hsin's accessory Spring in Bloom is $3.99 and Suoming's Glazed Roseate is $5.99, both permanent items for 400 Astrite in later versions, and there is a new WavesLine look, Hsin and Moon.

What is still unknown

• Kit numbers, roles and ascension materials for Hsin and Suoming. Kuro's review series has skipped characters before, so a Resonator Review may never come.
• Signature weapon stats and passives for Blooming Jadehaven and Unspoken Rue.
• Dates, Union Level gates and reward quantities for most of the nine events.
• Maintenance window, pre-download sizes and compensation. The maintenance notice lands roughly a week before the patch; 3.6 paid Astrite x300 and Crystal Solvent x2, which is the expected order of magnitude, not confirmed.
• The exact Phase 2 date. October 22 is inference from the Phase 2 login event, not a published phase split.
