Wuthering Waves Song of the Heart Sword Quest: Rewards & Trophies

How to unlock the 3.6 main quest Song of the Heart Sword (Chapter IV Act III), its full rewards, and all 17 quest trophies.

What is Song of the Heart Sword?

Song of the Heart Sword is the Chapter IV Act III main quest of Wuthering Waves, shipped with the Version 3.6 update on August 20, 2026. The official 3.6 maintenance notice lists two new story quests for the patch: Chapter IV Act III: Song of the Heart Sword and Chapter IV Segue: The Nethermancer's Requiem. Together they close the Xuanfang arc that opened in earlier chapters: the Autopuppet crisis, the mystery of Muyu, and the Mengzhou Sentinel known as Hsin the Moon Fox.

It is a permanent main quest, not a timed event. It sits at the end of the Chapter IV chain:

QuestTypeReleased
Act I — The Wind Before the StormMain questEarlier in Chapter IV
Act II — Xuanling Sings, Storm QuelledMain questEarlier in Chapter IV
Segue — The Chant of Unseen TiesMain questVersion 3.5
Act III — Song of the Heart SwordMain questVersion 3.6 (this guide)
Segue — The Nethermancer's RequiemMain questVersion 3.6

The wiki's quest page carries a large cast for Act III: Qingxiao, Suisui, Yangyang (Xuanling), Hsin, Jingran, Muyu, Ruoyun, Liangyu, Jingwei, Changli and others. That makes it a useful lore stop for two ongoing storylines at once: Hsin is the Sentinel the finale builds toward, and Jingran is the 3.6 Phase 2 banner character (her banner, Where Santu Beckons, opens September 10). If you want the lore teaser rather than the gameplay details, the official Xuanfang Finale preview article covers what Kuro published before launch.

How to unlock it

The hard gate is the Segue quest The Chant of Unseen Ties. Every one of the 17 quest trophies in Act III lists "Complete The Chant of Unseen Ties" as its requirement, and the quest page lists it as the direct predecessor. That Segue quest shipped in 3.5, so most active players already have it done: it pays 50 Astrite, 500 Union EXP, one Wind-Laced Feathers, three Advanced Resonance Potions, three Advanced Sealed Tubes and 30,000 Shell Credit, and it ends with Yangyang waiting on her Spectrum Test results while a mysterious voice whispers in her ear.

Once that is cleared, Act III begins with a WavesLine from Yangyang: her sister Suisui is about to head back to Mengzhou City. You rush to the checkpoint to see her off, and the story takes over from there.

Two things worth knowing before you start. First, the wiki's quest page shows no Union Level requirement (the field is empty), and no level cap has been announced for it; the in-game quest menu is the source of truth if you hit a gate. Second, there is no deadline. Unlike the 3.6 timed events, which run on fixed windows, this quest waits for you.

What happens in the quest

Based on the wiki's dialogue dump and the official Chapter IV summaries, the arc runs roughly like this. Suisui leaves for Mengzhou to dig into Zhuojun Atelier and Muyu (who fled the last battle inside a puppet vessel), and she points you toward Hsin the Moon Fox, the Mengzhou Sentinel, after the Elseway Shroud she once entered reappears. From there you and Qingxiao enter the Manifold Sanctum, where you find Xuanfang Hold's control mainframe eroded by Reverberations. The Sanctum, and then all of Xuanfang Hold, takes to the air, and the two of you fall into a deep valley.

The trophy descriptions fill in the middle of that fall: a Cloud Shuttle to board, realms named Ren, Di and Tian to pass through, Swordlight projections to absorb, a white plum tree to restore, Autopuppets whose true forms you see through, and a qin player in a courtyard late at night (the Bright Shines the Moon trophy). The quest ends with Qingxiao formally taking you as her disciple.

One honest caveat: the wiki's step-by-step walkthrough is still being filled in (the Steps section was empty when this article was written). The quest is mostly dialogue and scripted set pieces, so following the quest marker is enough; nobody needs a guide to navigate it.

Rewards

The full reward list from the wiki's quest page:

RewardAmountNotes
Astrite2001.25 pulls at 160 per pull
Union EXP2,000
Rover's Waveband (Electro)15-star Resonance Chain activation material for Rover: Electro

Jadie the Mightiest Autopuppet1Wiki item page not published yet as of this writing
Modding EXP1,600

Advanced Sealed Tube7Echo EXP
Shell Credit120,000

Add the Segue quest before it and the story package comes to 250 Astrite (200 + 50), which is 1.56 pulls. By per-patch Astrite standards that is a modest payout for a flagship finale. The real value is the Rover's Waveband (Electro), a 5-star Resonance Chain activation material that unlocks a Resonance Chain node for Rover: Electro without spending anything, plus the fact that finishing the quest opens the new area (below).

All 17 quest trophies

The wiki added the Act III trophy set in late August, and each page carries its official description. Trophies reward Astrite and Sigil on completion, per the wiki's Trophies system page. Sixteen of the seventeen list The Chant of Unseen Ties as their requirement; the last one, Settling Old Debt, requires The Nethermancer's Requiem, the Segue quest that follows Act III.

TrophyRequirement (official description)
The Storm Holds Its BreathHelp the Xuanfang Wardens evacuate civilians to the area around the Ministry of War
Bright Shines the MoonMeet the one playing the qin in the courtyard late at night
Birdsong Deepens the StillnessFall into a strangely familiar valley
Moonbound ShuttleBoard the Cloud Shuttle in the Ren Realm
As If a MirageArrive at the Di Realm
Reaching the HeavenReach the Tian Realm
My Way Is Not AloneRestore the white plum tree to life
Light Upon the HiddenSee through the Autopuppets' true forms
A Nethermancer's TaleFind traces of Jingran aboard the Cloud Shuttle
The Long Night Wears OnAbsorb all the Swordlight projections
Bye-Bye, Cloud RidePerform a Sword Flight once on your own
Floating in a Sea of CloudsPass through the Skyend Barrier before Di Realm
Cloud Shuttles FallDefeat the assailing fleet of Cloud Shuttle
Boarding Action!Board the main vessel of the enemy's fleet
Master and DiscipleFormally become Qingxiao's disciple
Others Will FollowComplete "Song of the Heart Sword"
Settling Old DebtComplete "The Nethermancer's Requiem"

Most of these unlock automatically as the quest plays out, since they describe scripted story beats. A few are easy to miss if you rush: absorb every Swordlight projection (The Long Night Wears On), and try the Sword Flight yourself once the game hands it to you (Bye-Bye, Cloud Ride), because both are tied to set pieces rather than plain progress.

The same wiki batch added other 3.6 trophies beyond the quest: the Resonance of Battle group now asks for 50 kills of the new bosses (Above the High Heavens = Calamity Effigy, Unwavering Resolve = Thousand-Puppet Pavilion, He Calls It Release = Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis) and 100 Outro Skill uses for Qingxiao, Rover: Electro and Suisui; Footprints in Huanglong III adds the Super Cloud Ride Challenges and the Lionarch Head Defense battle; World in All Its Variety II adds side-quest trophies like Friend of the Moon Fox (leave an offering at the Moon Fox Society in Xuanfang Hold and come back the next day). The Moments with You group adds companion-quest trophies for Qingxiao (Together, Into the Worldly Splendor), Jingran, Jinhsi and Changli, plus All Within Seven Strings, which asks you to listen to Qingxiao play the guqin in her inner landscape.

Xuanyuan Domain unlock

The 3.6 maintenance notice is explicit: New Area Xuanyuan Domain — "reach the location during Main Quest Chapter IV Act III Song of the Heart Sword." So the quest is also the key to 3.6's new overworld area in Mengzhou. Two new landmarks anchor the finale: the domain unlocks during Act III, while the new Calamity Effigy Overlord boss sits at Xuanfang Hold's Verdant Court, per the wiki enemy page. That boss matters for 3.6 Phase 2: it drops Forged Empyrean's Sigh, the ascension material Jingran needs. Our Calamity Effigy guide covers its drops and echo.

FAQ

Is Song of the Heart Sword available right now?
Yes. It shipped with Version 3.6 on August 20, 2026, and it has no event window, so it stays in your quest log permanently.
What do I need to have completed before starting it?
Chapter IV up to and including the Segue quest The Chant of Unseen Ties. All 17 Act III trophies list that quest as their requirement.
How much Astrite does it pay?
200 Astrite from the quest itself (1.25 pulls at 160 per pull), plus 1,600 Modding EXP and 120,000 Shell Credit. The preceding Segue quest pays another 50, and trophy completions pay Astrite and Sigil through the trophy system.
Does it unlock Xuanyuan Domain?
Yes. The official 3.6 maintenance notice says the new area is reached during Act III.
Is Jingran playable in this quest?
No. She appears in the story (you find traces of her aboard the Cloud Shuttle, per the A Nethermancer's Tale trophy), but her banner, Where Santu Beckons, opens with 3.6 Phase 2 on September 10, 2026. The quest itself does not require her.
