Wuthering Waves Myriad Snare Hologram Guide: Rewards & Mechanics

Version 3.6 adds Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis to the Tactical Hologram: Sparring arena at Fogveil Pagoda. Six difficulties, 145 Astrite with trophies, and a four-minute clock on the top two levels.

The new hologram, and where it lives

Both the official Version 3.6 maintenance notice (August 13) and the patch notes (August 20) list the same line under New Challenge: "New 'Tactical Hologram: Sparring' Challenge: Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis." That is the whole announcement, so the details below come from the fandom wiki's hologram pages, which the community has documented in full.

The Sparring arena sits at Fogveil Pagoda in Eastern Xuan Peaks, Mengzhou, Huanglong. The arena itself shipped in Version 3.5 alongside Denia's hologram; the Myriad Snare fight is the 3.6 addition to it. The wiki describes the venue as "a secret drill ground built by T-G0NG inside the Fogveil Pagoda, accessible via the Battle Shade Shroud," where simulated Tacet Discords are used to test top-end Autopuppets. The practical unlock is simpler: Union Level 27.

Some context on where this sits in the challenge roster. As of 3.6 the game has 23 Tactical Hologram challenges split across four systems, Calamity, Phantom Pain, Synchronization and Sparring, each with its own exchange token. Holograms are permanent content. Unlike the events around them, nothing here expires when 3.6 ends, so there is no deadline pressure to clear it this month.

What you are fighting: an Overlord Autopuppet with 40% Fusion RES

Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis is an Overlord-class Autopuppet Tacet Discord, the same enemy you can farm in the overworld at Western Fang Peaks. The wiki's flavor text is worth quoting, because it explains the design: "Deep within the Skyworks, the Myriad Snare serves as a living prison for Tacet Discords, capable of transforming into a formidable Autopuppet to wipe them out. However, as the Skyworks fell into unknown chaos, all maintenance work came to a halt... To this day, even with only a shattered body remaining, it still carries out its purge without rest."

PropertyValue (per the wiki)
Fusion RES40%; 10% to the other elements
Havoc Bane stack+5% total DMG taken per stack, 30s, up to 5 stacks (+25%)
Havoc Bane consumed+20% total DMG taken for 30s
Time limit5 minutes per hologram

The resistance table is the short version of "do not bring a Fusion DPS." 40% Fusion RES is a heavy tax on every Fusion hit. That lands awkwardly on this patch: the Phase 2 banner characters, Jingran and Mornye, are both Fusion Broadblade users, so the two resonators 3.6 is pushing hardest are the wrong element for this particular fight. Non-Fusion damage is the straightforward answer.

The Havoc Bane interaction is where the fight gets interesting. The boss takes 5% more total DMG per Havoc Bane stack for 30 seconds, stacking to five, and when the Havoc Bane on it is consumed it takes 20% more total DMG for 30 seconds. Per the wiki's combat-role list, exactly two Resonators can apply Havoc Bane: Chisa (Havoc Broadblade, 2.8) and Yangyang: Xuanling (Havoc Sword, 3.5). If you own either one, they turn this fight into a damage race. The wiki does not spell out what consumes the debuff, so treat the consume line as the raw mechanic rather than a combo you can script.

All six difficulties and their rewards

Each difficulty is a first-clear reward, paid once. The pattern mirrors every other hologram: 20 Astrite per level, escalating credits and tokens, and the boss's echo as a deterministic drop.

VI100Prison Bound + Doomed Fire2060,000300305★

Add it up and a full clear pays 120 Astrite, 250,000 Shell Credits, 1,500 Sparring Coin, 120 Premium Tuner, and six copies of the boss's echo, two at 4★ and four at 5★. At the standard 160 Astrite per pull, the raw Astrite is 0.75 pulls; the two Sparring trophies below add 25 more, bringing the whole hologram to roughly 0.9 pulls. Modest, but it is permanent content that only asks for one good session.

Difficulties V and VI: Prison Bound and Doomed Fire

The first four levels are plain fights. V and VI add two named mechanisms, and they are the reason the top levels feel different from the rest.

Prison Bound. Per the wiki: when the Myriad Snare is enraged, it loses HP each second and takes more Vibration Strength Reduction; when it is not enraged, it takes 10% more total DMG. In practice the enrage state is a window where the boss damages itself and staggers easily, and the calm state is a quieter window where your hits land 10% harder. Neither state is something you control directly, so the practical takeaway is modest: keep damage rolling through both phases and punish staggers when they happen.

Doomed Fire. This is the real gate. After 3 minutes of combat, Resonators deal and take 10% more total DMG every 10 seconds, up to 60%. After 4 minutes, both numbers jump to 100% and Resonators receive 100% less healing. In plain terms: at the four-minute mark the fight becomes a mirrored damage trade with healing turned off, on top of the universal five-minute cap. V and VI are effectively kill checks. Bring damage, not sustain; a healer whose whole value is raw healing stops mattering the moment the clock hits four minutes.

What the Sparring Coins buy

Sparring Coin is the arena's own token, and the full clear yields 1,500 of them. The item page says they are spent in the Simulation Training Store (the Store's Point Shop) on Premium Sealed Tubes, weapon and skill materials, Premium Resonance Potions, and Premium Energy Cores. One anchor for the value: a Premium Sealed Tube is 5,000 echo EXP, the same tube the Resonance Sim Realm event pays out, so the coin pool is a decent echo-leveling top-up on top of the direct rewards.

The echo itself is worth a paragraph. It is the R71 Overlord echo, cost 4: the skill summons Myriad Snare to deal Fusion DMG on impact and crush enemies along its path up to 19 times, on a 20-second cooldown, and the main-slot bonus is 12% Fusion DMG plus 12% Heavy Attack DMG. Difficulty III and up hand out 5★ copies directly, which beats farming the overworld boss at 60 Waveplates a roll.

Trophies, and one more echo note

The hologram carries two trophies in the From the Abyssal Tower III group, and the overworld boss has a third that is easy to confuse with them:

TrophyRequirementAstrite
Unstoppable BladewheelClear the Sparring hologram at any difficulty5
Burning to the EndClear the Sparring hologram at difficulty VI20
He Calls It ReleaseDefeat the overworld Myriad Snare boss 50 times10

The group, From the Abyssal Tower III, spans 16 trophies and 195 Astrite across Sparring, Synchronization and Endstate Matrix, so the two above are only part of it. One thing worth knowing before you grind: the Phantom version of this echo, the one the Resonance Sim Realm event gives out, is a separate appearance of the same R71 stats. The hologram pays regular copies; the event pays the Phantom. If you want both looks, you need both sources.

FAQ

What Union Level do I need for Tactical Hologram: Sparring?
Union Level 27, per the wiki's infobox. That is the same gate as the original Calamity holograms' early levels.
How much Astrite does a full clear pay?
120 from the six difficulties, plus 25 from the two Sparring trophies, for 145 total. At 160 Astrite per pull that is about 0.9 pulls of permanent, one-time income.
Do hologram rewards reset weekly?
No. Every difficulty pays once, on first clear, and the Sparring Coin description says the tokens are given "for the first time" too. The 1,500 coins are a finite pool, not a weekly allowance.
Is the hologram echo the same as the Phantom from Resonance Sim Realm?
Same echo family and stats (R71), different appearance. The hologram gives regular copies, 5★ from difficulty III up; the event gives the Phantom skin. Both count as the same echo for sonata purposes.
Can I bring Jingran or Mornye here?
You can, but the boss carries 40% Fusion RES, so their damage takes a visible hit. Non-Fusion DPS is the better pick, and a Havoc Bane applier like Chisa or Yangyang: Xuanling turns the debuff into free damage.
