Wuthering Waves Mornye Build Guide: Echo Sets, Weapons & Teams

Mornye, the 5-star Fusion Broadblade support and healer, returns for her third run in 3.6 Phase 2 (September 10–29). Her kit is fully documented on the wiki; this build stacks Energy Regen past 200%, runs Moonlit Clouds, and lets one character heal, shield, and hand the carry a 25% damage amp.

Who this guide covers

Mornye debuted January 15, 2026 in Version 3.0 on Distant May the Starlights Be (Jan 15 to Feb 4), then reran in 3.3 (Apr 30 to May 21). Two occurrences on record, so the 3.6 run is her third: September 10, 10:00 to September 29, 11:59 server time (UTC+8), alongside Jingran's debut and Hiyuki's first rerun; her signature Starfield Calibrator returns on the Absolute Pulsation weapon banner in the same window. Whether to pull is covered in the Phase 2 pull guide.

Sourcing note: Mornye's official Resonator Review (April 28, 2026) is a character feature with art, not a build sheet. No Kuro-published numbers anchor this guide; everything comes from the wiki's kit pages, and anything beyond them is labeled as reasoning.

What she does: heal, shield, amplify

The wiki labels her Support and Healer with DMG Amplification plus Tune Rupture, Tune Strain, and Off-Tune Buildup tags. Both Resonance Skill variants heal the team: Expectation Error (parry state, 100% damage reduction, counterattack cuts cooldown by 2s) and, in flight, Distributed Array (heals + Hover Cannons, 16s cooldown). Both heals scale off her DEF, not ATK (Distributed Array: 427 + 113.4% DEF at level 10), and her base DEF at 90 is 1,356.6, so defense stats are not wasted.

The kit loop: two gauges, one long flight

ResourceCapHow it fills / spends
Rest Mass Energy100Fills from basics, heavies, dodge counters, and Optimal Solution hits. At 100, Heavy Attack becomes Geopotential Shift, launching her into the air.
Wide Field Observation Mode30sFlight state: drains STA with no regen, replaces the skill with Distributed Array, and spawns a Syntony Field. Ends on landing, dodging, jumping, or switching.
Syntony Field25sDeals Liberation-class Fusion DMG on spawn, heals the team every 3s, raises Off-Tune Buildup Rate 50%, gives interruption resistance; Liberation consumes it to create High Syntony Field (+20% team DEF, +40% healing).
Relative Momentum100Fills from flight-mode attacks and Distributed Array. At 100, Heavy Attack becomes Inversion, applying Observation Marker (30s) to the target.
Observation Marker30sWhen a teammate lands Tune Break DMG on a marked target, Mornye applies Interfered Marker (8s), the team-wide damage buff.

The loop: build Rest Mass Energy on the ground, launch, fly, build Relative Momentum, then Inversion to mark. Her Liberation (175 Resonance Energy, 25s cooldown, 522.3% ATK at level 10) upgrades the field.

Energy Regen is her real stat

Three parts of her kit convert Energy Regen into offense:

  • Resonance Liberation (Critical Protocol) — every 1% of ER above 100% grants 0.5% Crit. Rate and 1% Crit. DMG to the skill itself, caps +80% Crit. Rate / +160% Crit. DMG at 260% ER.
  • Interfered Marker — marked targets take more damage from the whole team: 0.25% per 1% of ER above 100%, up to 40% at 260% ER.
  • Sequence 2 — teammates gain Crit. DMG against marked targets, 0.2% per 1% of ER above 100%, up to 32%.

At 230% ER — realistic with an ER weapon, ER 3-costs, and substats — the conversion alone gives her Liberation roughly +65% Crit. Rate and +130% Crit. DMG, and the marker hands the team about +32% damage. DEF% main stats are the fallback for pure-sustain teams, but they trade away all of that; for a support who heals off DEF and buffs off ER, the answer is usually ER.

Echo sets: Moonlit Clouds first

Set2-piece5-piece
Moonlit CloudsEnergy Regen +10%After Outro Skill, the next Resonator's ATK +22.5% for 15s.
Rejuvenating GlowHealing Bonus +10%Healing allies raises the whole party's ATK 15% for 30s.
Molten RiftFusion DMG +10%After Resonance Skill, Fusion DMG +30% for 15s.

Moonlit Clouds, 5 pieces, is the default: the 2-piece ER feeds every conversion above, and the 5-piece Outro buff stacks on top of her own 25% All DMG Amplification. Swap her in, cast Outro, and the carry gets +25% damage and +22.5% ATK for 15-30 seconds. Rejuvenating Glow is the sustain pick; Molten Rift only for a hybrid sub-DPS build.

For the 4-cost slot, Bell-Borne Geochelone (Moonlit Clouds) gives a 15s shield with 50% damage reduction and 10% team DMG boost, gone after 3 hits; Impermanence Heron refunds 10 Resonance Energy and boosts the next character's damage 12% for 15s after an Outro.

Main stats (standard practice, not published): cost-4 Healing Bonus or Crit. Rate, cost-3 Energy Regen, cost-1 DEF%. Substats: Energy Regen, DEF%, then Crit. and ATK%.

Weapons

Starfield Calibrator is her signature and the best-in-slot by a wide margin: Energy Regen second stat (76.9% at level 90, 412 base ATK). Rank 1 Definite Solution grants +16% DEF, restores 8 Concerto Energy on Liberation (once per 20s), and gives the whole team +20% Crit. DMG for 4s whenever she heals. At R5 that is +32% DEF, 16 Concerto, and +40% Crit. DMG.

Lustrous Razor, the standard-banner 5-star broadblade, is the free-ish alternative: ATK% second stat, +12.8 Energy Regen from its passive, and Resonance Liberation DMG +7% stacking 3 times on skill casts. It trades the team Crit. DMG for personal damage.

Discord (4-star) is the F2P pick: Energy Regen second stat, and on skill cast it restores 8 Concerto Energy (once per 20s, 16 at R5). Faster Outro rotations, exactly what a buffer wants; it was a featured 4-star on both of her first two weapon banners.

Teams

Mornye buffs whoever is on field, so she fits most teams. The verified shapes:

SlotOptions (verified roster)Notes
CarryQingxiao (5-star Aero Sword, 3.6 Phase 1); Changli (5-star Fusion Sword); Encore (5-star Fusion Rectifier); Chixia (4-star Fusion Pistols)Her Outro plus Moonlit Clouds benefits any of them.
Tune Strain partnerDenia (5-star Fusion Rectifier); Luuk Herssen; LynaeThe only Shifting appliers; Mornye and Qingxiao both carry the Tune Strain Response tag.
Healer backupVerina (5-star Spectro); Shorekeeper (5-star Spectro); Baizhi (4-star Glacio)For sustain-heavy fights.

The 3.6 team worth naming: Mornye + Qingxiao + Denia. Denia applies Tune Strain - Shifting; Tune Break converts it to Interfered; Mornye answers with Particle Jet and her marker buff while Qingxiao leans on her own response, and Mornye's Outro covers Qingxiao's burst window. She is one of five resonators with the Tune Strain Response tag (Denia, Luuk Herssen, Lynae, Mornye, Qingxiao), and while she is in the team the target's Tune Strain - Interfered stack limit rises by 1.

Budget starter: Mornye + Chixia + Baizhi. Chixia was a featured 4-star on Mornye's debut banner and Baizhi is the standard free healer; the team costs nothing you don't already have.

Sequences worth knowing

  • S1 The Silent Observer — flight basics become interruption-immune; Interfered Marker lasts 150% longer, buffs damage even without the Interfered state, and Observation Marker also applies it directly. The marker engine stops depending on teammates.
  • S2 Morning Star of Entropy — teammates gain up to 32% Crit. DMG against marked targets (ER-scaled); both fields add 20% more Off-Tune Buildup Rate.
  • S3 Blueprint of Recursion — Distributed Array refunds 25 Concerto Energy and 100 Relative Momentum, once per 25s.
  • S4 Latent Variables of the Cosmos — High Syntony Field heals 30% more.
  • S5 Time Dilation Effect — Liberation multiplier +40%; Particle Jet +160%.
  • S6 To the Far Shores of the Stars — Liberation deals 400% more damage; out of combat for 4s, she regenerates 10% of max Resonance Energy every 0.2s.

S1 is the support upgrade that matters; S2 is the next stop. S6 turns her Liberation into a nuke; she is a support first.

Materials

Full ascension (0 to 6 stars): 170,000 Shell Credit, 46 Burning Judgment (drops from the Reactor Husk boss), 60 Gemini Spore (Lahai-Roi material, sold by N.A.N.A.), and 4 LF + 12 MF + 12 HF + 4 FF Mech Cores. One main forte from 1 to 10: 280,000 Shell Credit, 5 LF + 5 MF + 8 HF + 11 FF Carved Crystals, 5 LF + 5 MF + 5 HF + 9 FF Mech Cores, and 4 The Netherworld's Stare. Both Inherent Skills: 30,000 Shell Credit and 2 The Netherworld's Stare (plus crystals and Mech Cores); each Stat Bonus strand 150,000 Shell Credit. Her skill material is The Netherworld's Stare (Hecate weekly boss); Qingxiao and Hiyuki instead need We Who Question.

Pull verdict, briefly

A 5-star costs at most 80 pulls (12,800 Astrite), a guaranteed copy 160 (25,600) with a lost 50/50, per the official Convene Details (see the pity system explained and how the 50/50 works). Whether she is worth it is the pull guide's job; the short version: she gets better with Energy Regen, the cheapest stat to stack, and if you need a second healer or a Tune Strain team member, she is the most tested option on the roster.

FAQ

Which echo set should I farm for Mornye?
Moonlit Clouds, 5 pieces: the ER feeds her Liberation crit conversion and marker buff, and the Outro ATK buff stacks with her own 25% amplification. Rejuvenating Glow only for constant-heal teams.
How much Energy Regen should I stack?
Past 200% is where the conversion gets serious; 260% ER is the hard cap for the Liberation conversion and marker buff, which needs an ER weapon, ER 3-costs, and substats. More ER is never wasted on her.
Does her healing scale off ATK?
No, off DEF. Both Resonance Skill heals use her DEF, which is why DEF% on 1-costs and DEF substats do double duty.
When does her rerun banner run?
Phase 2 of Version 3.6: September 10 to September 29, per the official update content published August 18.
Is she good with Qingxiao?
Yes. Both carry the Tune Strain Response tag; with Denia applying Shifting, Mornye's marker buff and Particle Jet cover Qingxiao's burst window, and her Outro is a flat 25% All DMG Amplification on top.
