Wuthering Waves Hiyuki Build Guide: Echo Sets, Weapons & Teams

Hiyuki, the 5-star Glacio Sword damage dealer, gets her first rerun in 3.6 Phase 2 (September 10–29). No official Resonator Review exists, so this build comes from the wiki's full kit documentation: stance loop, echo set, weapons, teams, sequences, materials.

Who this guide covers

Hiyuki debuted in Version 3.3 (April 30, 2026) on Thousand Futures Mirrored in Snow, which ran to May 21 — the only convene occurrence on record, so her 3.6 run is her first rerun: September 10, 10:00 to September 29, 11:59 server time (UTC+8), alongside Jingran's debut and Mornye's rerun (pull decisions in the Phase 2 pull guide). Frostburn returns on Absolute Pulsation in the same window.

One caveat: with no official Resonator Review, nothing Kuro-published anchors this guide. Everything comes from the wiki's skill pages; recommendations beyond them (echo main stats) are reasoning from her kit, not published sources.

The stance loop: Present Self and Foreclaimed Self

Hiyuki has two stances and two gauges. In Present Self, her basic chain and Intro Skill fill Dedication (cap 300): Stage 3 restores 100, Intro Frostedge 200, her skill enhances the next Stage 3 for 100 more. At full Dedication, holding Normal Attack fires Frost Splinter — three Liberation-DMG arrows, immune to interruption and damage while casting. That consumes the gauge and opens Foreclaiming: Inward Vision, the stance switch: Glacio DMG, 4 Chafe stacks, 3 Frostharden Iai, and no Resonance Energy cost.

In Foreclaimed Self, every attack counts as Resonance Liberation DMG. Frostheart (cap 300) fills from skill casts and normals; at 100 she can dodge into Iai Stance for Basic Attack - Iai (100 Frostheart, 1 Frostharden Iai, 3 Chafe stacks). Each Iai stacks Whiteout Bitterfrost; at 3, Heavy Attack becomes Bitterfrost: Foreclaimed Self, granting 1 Snowforged Blade (cap 3).

Snowforged Blade fuels the burst: holding Resonance Liberation charges Foreclaiming: Blade Liberation, each point raising its multiplier, then drops her back to Present Self; unspent points carry over. The wiki infobox lists the Liberation at 125 energy, 25s cooldown (Blade Liberation; Inward Vision costs nothing).

Kit numbers that matter

ResourceCapHow it fills / spends
Dedication300BA Stage 3 +100, Intro Frostedge +200, enhanced BA3 +100. Full gauge enables Frost Splinter (3 arrows, Liberation DMG, immune while casting).
Frostheart300Restored by Foreclaimed Self attacks and skill casts. 100 lets her enter Iai Stance; Basic Attack - Iai costs 100.
Frostharden Iai3Inward Vision grants 3. Each Iai consumes 1 and applies 3 Chafe stacks.
Whiteout Bitterfrost31 per Iai. At 3, Heavy Attack becomes Bitterfrost: Foreclaimed Self, granting 1 Snowforged Blade.
Snowforged Blade3Charges Blade Liberation; each point consumed raises its multiplier. Unspent points carry over.
Glacio Chafe10Slows the target; at max stacks the target freezes and stacks reset. Her Forte Circuit converts teammates' Chafe into Glacio Bite, which triggers damage by the target's stack limit.

Two skills stand apart. Frostedge (Intro) deals Liberation-DMG-class Glacio damage, applies Chafe, restores 200 Dedication — why rotations swap her in and out. Snowlight Blessing (Outro) amplifies teammates' Glacio DMG 20% vs Chafe-affected targets for 20s.

Inherents tie into Chafe. Fine Snow: when a teammate applies Glacio Chafe or Havoc Bane, Hiyuki gains a Snow Rust stack (max 3, once per Resonator) — at 1 stack, Glacio Bite DMG is amplified 30% in range and Crit. DMG rises 40%; at 2, each Chafe application also deals a Glacio Bite instance. Ephemeral Realm: 4s out of combat restores 1 Snowforged Blade.

Echo sets: Freezing Frost is the pick

Set2-piece5-piece
Freezing FrostGlacio DMG +10%Releasing Basic or Heavy Attack grants 10% Glacio DMG Bonus, up to 3 stacks, 15s each.
Frosty ResolveResonance Skill DMG +12%Skill cast grants 22.5% Glacio DMG Bonus for 15s; Liberation raises Resonance Skill DMG by 18% for 5s, stacking twice.

Freezing Frost (5pc) matches her profile. Nearly everything in Foreclaimed Self — basic chain, Frost Splinter, Bitterfrost, Blade Liberation — counts as Resonance Liberation DMG, and flat Glacio DMG Bonus applies to all of it; the 5-piece stack (up to 30% on top of the 2-piece 10%) stays up through a rotation. Frosty Resolve's 2-piece is wasted on her: her skill is a gauge tool, and the set pushes Skill DMG she barely deals. Built for a different character.

The set's Overlord echo is Lampylumen Myriad (cost 4); main stats follow the standard DPS arrangement — Crit. Rate/Crit. DMG on cost-4, Glacio DMG Bonus on cost-3s, ATK% on cost-1s.

Weapons

Frostburn is her signature: 5-star Sword, Crit. Rate second stat. Rank 1 Self No More: ATK +12%; when the wielder applies Glacio Chafe, Glacio DMG is Amplified by 28% and Resonance Liberation DMG ignores 10% of the target's DEF; while active, Chafe DMG in range is Amplified 20% for 6s (once per 0.1s). Her kit applies Chafe constantly, so the 28% Glacio Amplification is effectively permanent, and the DEF ignore lands where her damage is.

The budget option is Emerald of Genesis, the standard-banner 5-star Sword (Winter Brume series). Also Crit. Rate, and Rank 1 Stormy Resolution gives Energy Regen +12.8 plus ATK +6% (2 stacks, 10s) on skill casts. The energy matters: Blade Liberation costs 125, and the regen smooths rotations without a battery — a 5-star stat stick with a relevant passive at no gacha cost.

Everbright Polestar (Aemeath's signature, 5-star Sword, Crit. Rate) is a stat stick only — its Fusion-oriented passive (Liberation DEF ignore on Tune Rupture - Shifting or Fusion Burst) contributes nothing to her damage. Banner note: Absolute Pulsation has no 50/50, every 5-star is the featured weapon, so Frostburn costs at most 80 Forging Tide pulls (mechanics in the weapon banner guide).

Teams

Her Outro amplifies the next Resonator's Glacio DMG, so she wants a Glacio partner or a carry for the 20-second window. Roles are the wiki's combat-role labels:

SlotOptions (verified roles)Notes
HealerBaizhi (4-star Glacio, Support and Healer); Verina (5-star Spectro, Support and Healer)Baizhi matches her element, was a featured 4-star on her debut banner. Verina is the premium universal pick.
Glacio sub-DPSZhezhi (5-star Glacio, Glacio DMG Amplification); Sanhua (4-star Glacio, Basic Attack DMG Amplification)Zhezhi's Glacio Amplification stacks with Hiyuki's Outro. Sanhua is the cheap flex.

Starting points: Hiyuki + Zhezhi + Baizhi for the double-Glacio engine, and Hiyuki + Sanhua + Verina if Zhezhi is busy elsewhere. The Outro works in reverse too — she can sub-DPS for a Glacio carry. Treat these as templates: a healer plus someone who can spend her Outro window.

Sequences worth knowing

  • S1 Springless — Foreclaimed Self attack multipliers +120%, Stage 3 basic pulls enemies in, interruption immunity on Stages 4-5. The biggest single damage node.
  • S2 To Burn Cold in Silence — Iai multiplier +125%; Ephemeral Realm upgrades to restore 3 Snowforged Blade and reset 2 Jade Cleave charges.
  • S3 No Self, No Bound — Frost Splinter and Bitterfrost multipliers +160%; Fine Snow gains a revive/join Snow Rust stack; at 2 stacks the bonus Glacio Bite damage rises 488%.
  • S4 Like Reeds on Tides — skill cast raises the whole team's damage 20% for 30s and heals 18% Max HP. The team node.
  • S5 Vessel of Thousand Wishes — skill multipliers +80%.
  • S6 Into a Night Without End — Inward Vision and Blade Liberation gain 500% Crit. DMG; at 2 Snow Rust every teammate's Chafe triggers the bonus Glacio Bite. A whale-level nuke.

For a light-spender, S1 is the node that matters — it is the difference between a stance that tickles and one that clears. S2 smooths the rotation; S6 is the only ceiling change.

Materials

Full ascension (0 to 6 stars) costs 170,000 Shell Credit, 46 Our Choice, 60 Redbell, and 4 LF + 12 MF + 12 HF + 4 FF Exoswarm Cores. One main forte from 1 to 10 costs 280,000 Shell Credit, 5 Broken + 5 Monowing + 8 Polywing + 11 Layered Wing Polarizers, 5 LF + 5 MF + 5 HF + 9 FF Exoswarm Cores, and 4 We Who Question. Both Inherent Skills cost 30,000 Shell Credit plus Polarizers, Exoswarm Cores, and 2 We Who Question; each Stat Bonus strand 150,000 Shell Credit. Redbell is the overworld gate, Our Choice the boss-material gate, We Who Question the same 3.x skill material Denia needs.

Pull verdict, briefly

She is on her first rerun, window September 10 to 29. A 5-star costs at most 80 pulls (12,800 Astrite), a guaranteed featured copy 160 (25,600) with a lost 50/50 — see the pity system explained and how the 50/50 works. Your Astrite is deciding between three banners at once. Own her from 3.3? Everything above is how to rebuild her; deciding? The Phase 2 pull guide compares.

FAQ

Which echo set should I farm for Hiyuki?
Freezing Frost, 5 pieces. Its flat Glacio DMG Bonus (10% plus up to 30% from stacks) applies to everything she does in Foreclaimed Self, since all of it counts as Resonance Liberation DMG. Frosty Resolve pushes Skill DMG her kit barely deals.
Is Frostburn worth pulling, or is a standard weapon fine?
Emerald of Genesis from the standard banner is a legitimate budget pick: Crit. Rate second stat plus Energy Regen for her 125-cost Liberation. Frostburn's 28% Glacio Amplification on Chafe application is the ceiling — and at most 80 Forging Tide pulls, since Absolute Pulsation has no 50/50.
When does her rerun banner run?
Phase 2 of Version 3.6: September 10, 10:00 to September 29, 11:59 server time (UTC+8), per the official Version 3.6 update content published August 18; it closes at the same minute as the other two banners.
Is Hiyuki a main DPS or a support?
The wiki labels her Main Damage Dealer with a Liberation-Damage focus. Her Outro amplifies teammates' Glacio DMG 20% for 20s, so she can enable a Glacio carry, but her own damage is the main event; build her as the carry.
Which sequence should I target?
S1 (Springless): +120% on her Foreclaimed Self attacks plus the pull and interruption immunity — the largest single upgrade. S2 and S4 are the next useful stops; S6 is the whale nuke.
